my the evolution of toasters. It lifts up a little higher than other toasters to make taking it out easier. Shipping took a little longer than I would've liked, but really if you can wait a couple days, it may well be worth it. Its a toaster, it toasts. That's good in my book.
The toast setting is lighted which took some getting used to but is a welcome addition now that I've owned it for a while. The Cuisinart toasts standard store bought bread perfectly on a setting of "3" and bagels come out perfectly when selecting the "bagel" button. For a while now, I've been looking for a replacement for my simple 10 yr. old 2 sliced toaster since it's become inconsistent.I finally settled on this unit after looking at units from $10 to $130 based on functions and price.
The only thing that bothers me is that the toaster is rather light-weight, and pressing on the "cancel" button sometimes requires using enough force to necessitate placing the other hand behind the toaster to keep it from slipping. After searching for a U.S.-made toaster at a reasonable price (there don't seem to be any at ANY price), I scoured the reviews of various makes. This one had the best ratings of any, so I purchased it.So far (about a month into using it), it has performed as I would expect a simple device to work: it does its job.
top part of toast is mushy like its micro waved.need to turn over and put in twice.gosh is it so hard to make something so simple as a toaster work right. Good price but old fashioned toasters work better. Bread toasts uneven.
I love this toaster. I use whole wheat toast. I was in the market for a toaster and wanted a white one. It does everything I wanted it to do. The toaster toasts it to perfection. I was going to get a cheapy but I got a gift certificate from Amazon for Mother's Day. So, I purchased the Cuisinart.
